In spring 2024, Egis team signed a contract for a feasibility study to develop Truskavets’ community water supply system. The official kick-off meeting took place on June 20. This project is funded by Swedfund, Sweden's development finance institution, and is being implemented under the leadership of the Truskavets City Council.
Truskavets, a renowned resort town in Ukraine's Lviv region, is famous for its mineral waters, particularly Naftusia, and its numerous sanatoriums specializing in the treatment of various diseases. However, the city currently faces significant challenges in its water supply and sewerage sector, including the poor technical condition of the water supply networks. The water quality does not meet the State Sanitary Rules and Regulations, and the main centralized water supply systems are worn out, leading to frequent accidents and high water losses.
The overall goal of the project is to improve the water supply for the population and promote responsible water use. The main tasks for Egis team include:
- Collecting data and establishing a baseline
- Analyzing socio-economic data
- Conducting technical assessments
- Performing financial and economic analysis
- Carrying out environmental and social screening
- Conducting a gap assessment and developing a roadmap
The final result of our work will help identify and justify an investment program aimed at enhancing the water supply systems of Truskavets and its neighboring communities thereby rendering it eligible for international funding.
